2018 Racines, Bentrock Vineyard Chardonnay 750ml

Racines is a collaboration by Etienne de Montille and Brian Sieve of Burgundy, Rodolphe Peters of Champagne, and Justin Willett of Santa Barbara. The team came together to join their individual experiences in hand-crafting wines of purity and transparency to create a range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay from the cool climate of the Sta. Rita Hills in California.

The Chardonnays — grown several miles from the ocean in ancient marine sea-beds, giving these wines a sense of energy, transparency and precision, and the advantage of being crafted with the techniques and expertise of hundreds of years of Burgundian and Champagnes winemaking.

"The 2018 Chardonnay Bentrock from Racines is gorgeous. Rich, precise and translucent, the 2018 captures the essence of Bentrock in its nuanced personality. There is so much going on in the glass. Crushed rocks, mint, white pepper, pear and floral notes develop with air, but it is the wine's texture and overall feel that distinguish it. This is such a captivating Chardonnay.  - Antonio Galloni
